Flowering plants and shrubs are unable to grow in deciduous temperate rain forests. What is the possible reason for this phenomenon?

The reason behind this phenomenon is because deciduous forests are located near the north portion of the earth thus, have a colder climate that stuns plants from growing at an amassing rate. Also, the sunlight is rare in this condition which could greatly affect the biological growth of these types of plants.
