The football stadium at the local university can hold 46,550 spectators. How many spectators can the football stadium hold if you round the answer of the nearest thousand?

47,000 because you are rounding to the nearest thousand.So.The 6 is in the thousands place.underline the 6.circle the 5. 5 or more raise the score.4 or less, let it rest.so five.you raise the score.leave the rest of the digits 0. and that is how you get 47,000

46 550.

the thousand digit is the 6. The digit after the 6 is 5. So we can round up the 6 to 7. If it was not up to 5 we have rounded the 5 down to 0.

= 47 000 to the nearest thousand.
