the equation is

1.25\text{ e + 0.50 c = 8}

Clearing c, we have

c\text{ = }\frac{8-1.25\text{ e}}{0.5}\text{ }

So we just need to make the substitutions. The first one is e = 1.4, so we will have

c=(8-1.25(1.4))/(.5)=12.5\text{ crabs rangoons}

For the second one, we have e=2.2

c=(8-1.25(2.2))/(.5)=10.5\text{ crabs rangoons}

In the second one, we start with 124 lt of water and we add 9 lt per minute (I think, it doesn't say). So, in this case the equation is

L\text{ =124+9t,}

where L is the number of liters of water and t is the time in minutes. First we are asked for the first 4 minutes, so we have

L\text{ = 124+9(4) = }160\text{ lt after the first 4 minutes}

Then, after the first 80 minutes we have

L\text{ = 124+9(80) = }844\text{ lt in the first 80 minutes}
