i.e

1 hour = 3 gallons of gas.

Now calculated gallons of gas used for 15 hours .

Gallons of gas used for 15 hours = 15 × Gallons of gas used for 1 hours.

Putting the values in the above

Gallons of gas used for 15 hours = 15 × 3

= 45

Therefore the 45 gallons of gas is used for 15 hours.
