first you will say 100%-15%=85% because it is a discount so you will get less money. now you say 85/100×42/1=17/10×21=347/10=£34.07. now you say £50.00-£34.07=£15.93.

5% of £42 = £2.10
10% of £42 = £4.20
15% of £42 = £6.30
£42 - £6.30 = £35.70
£50 - £35.70 = £14.30
the answer is £14.30
