so find the areas and subtract
area=pi times radius^2
radius=1/2diameter

carpet d=24
carpet r=24/2=12
carpet area=pi times 12^2=144pi


table d=8
carpet r=8/2=4
carpet area=pi times 4^2=16pi

so we subtract
144pi-16pi=128pi
answer is 128pi m^2
if aprox pi to 3.14 then
128 times 3.14=401.92 m^2
