A contemporary equivalent of Jonathan Swift might be a writer for the Daily show. Jonathan Swift was an Anglo-Irish essayist, poet, cleric, satirist, political pamphleteer. He became the Dean of St. Patrick's Cathedral.

The correct answer is letter B. He would be political speechwriter because most of his works involved satirical essays and he was also a political pamphleteer. Most of his essays are known but his poets are not. His most remembered work is Gulliver's Travels.
