Answer:

Since both angles make up the sum of the straight line, they are supplementary, or 180°. So

2n + 12 + 3n + 18 = 180

5n + 30 = 180

5n = 150

n = 30

So the measure of angle x is 2(30)+12 = 72°.

X and Y are supplementary angles. The sum of the supplementary angles is 180.

So, X + Y = 180
180 = 2n+12 + 3n + 18
180 = 5n + 30
5n = 150
n = 30

X = 2n+12
X = 2(30) + 12
X = 72

Y = 3n + 18
Y = 3(30) + 18
Y = 108
