How does the kinetic energy of a substance's particles in the liquid phase compare to their kinetic energy in the gas phase?

Kinetic energy in gas phase is much higher than the kinetic energy in the liquid phase. The higher the temperature is, the greater the kinetic energy. The kinetic energy in gas phase is such high, that it can even break intermolecular forces of attraction!
