People began producing goods through new methods and started factories in the US.

It changed work opportunities. More people were leaving the farms to work in factories.

Also, factories did not need highly specialized workers. Unskilled workers could do most of the work needed, therefore they could more easily find work. The unskilled workers were paid less money, but they were offered a job while the skilled workers had to find something else to make money from or to accept a lesser payment.

Many things were more easily produced and therefore more easily accessed by lower classes.
