Make 4 rectangles and split them into 8 parts. Shade in 3 of the 8 parts in every rectangle. Count the shaded parts and add them together. You should get 12/8. That simplified is 1 and 1/2.

Step 1 : Take four boxes in which each is of 3/8

Step 2 : Add the total value of these four boxes,

=(12)/(8)

Step 3 : Simplify the result ( If it is needed)


(12)/(8)=(3)/(2)

Hence,
