You multiply and subtract complex equations like this like i is just a variable.
(5-9i)+(-4+7i)
1-2i
(1-2i)-(14-3i)
1-2i-14+3i
-13+i
A
Hope this helps.

so remember you can write complex numbers as
a+bi where a is the real part and bi is the complex part
you can only add complex with complex and real with real
(5-9i+-4+7i)-(14-3i)
pemdas
paretnhaees first
5-9i-4+7i
5-4-9i+7i
1-2i

now we have
(1-2i)-(14-3i)
distribute negative 1 in fron of 14-3i
(1-2i)-14+3i
1-2i-14+3i
1-14-2i+3i
-13+1i
-13+i
the answer is -13+i or A
