Using the trigonometry ratio


\begin{gathered} sin45=(opp)/(hyp) \\ 0.7071=(9)/(x) \\ x=(9)/(0.7071) \\ x=12.7 \end{gathered}

To obtain y


\begin{gathered} tan45=(opp)/(adj) \\ 1=(9)/(y) \\ y*1=9 \\ y=9 \end{gathered}

Observe the use of SOH/CAH/TOA to remember the trigonometric ratio formula

The correct answer is option C ( the third choice )
