Why is it important to know how to interpret a remainder

It allows you to convert the quotient to decimals and fractions. For example, if your answer is 10/3, that equals 3 remainder 1, or 3 and 1/3, or 3.333... It also helps you to divide Algebraic expressions by other Algebraic expressions.
