How do you write a linear equation into standard form? For example: 3x = 18 + y

standard form is ax+by=c form
you have to rearrange your equation so that the terms with variables are on on side, and the real number is on the other side
3x=18+y Move the y value over to the other side
3x-y=18 <---- this is the final answer
