for this question you should put -2 for x in the equation and then find the y:
-2 + y = 6
now you should add +2 on both sides of the equation so you will have:
y = 6 + 2 = 8
so the answer is:
y = 8 :)))
i hope this is helpful
have a nice day

remember that you can do anything to an equaiton as long as you do it to both sides
so subsitute
x=-2
-2+y=6
add 2 to both sides
2-2+y=6+2
0+y=8
y=8
y=8
