Abiotic factors are important in determining the plant and animal population present in a biome, not being different in the case of the savanna. The type of vegetation in a region, like savanna, is determined by the local climate (dry temperatures, high solar incidence, and little rain), and type of soil. Savanna ecosystems are environments with the presence of grasses, bushes, and trees (some specific species) vegetation, but all adapted to little rain and dry condictions.
