adam drew 2 same size rectangles and divided them into the same number of equal part. he shaded 1/3 od one rectangle and 1/4 of other rectangle. what is the least number of parts into which both rectangles could be divided?

1/4 of 12. 12 parts

Explanation:

For the first rectangle, he shaded 1/3 of 12-- that is 4 parts.

For the second rectangle, he shaded 1/4 of 12-- and that is 3 parts. So, 1/4 of 12 is 3, so the answer is 12 parts.

i would say that he divided each rectangle in 12 identical parts
for the first rectangle he shaded 1/3 of 12 = 4 parts
for the second rectangle he shaded 1/4 of 12= 3 parts

so 12= 3*4 leads to a minimum of 12 parts
