During the 1968 Democratic Convention, Jerry Rubin introduced Pigasus the domestic pig as a presidential candidate. Pigasus was nominated for President of the US as a form of a theatrical gesture of the Youth International Party (Yippies). The pig was 145 pounds and was eventually seized by Chicago policemen with its Yippie backers during a Democratic National Convention.
