x +9.8 = 14.7
-9.8 from both sides
x=4.9

8(4.9 -3.7)
4.9-3.7=1.2
8*1.2=9.6

Find the value of x
x+9.8=14.7
x=4.9
Then plug it in the second equation
8(4.9-3.7)
8(1.2)
9.6
