2 / 48 78 2 into 48 and 78 you have 24 and 39
3 / 24 39 3 into 24 and 39 you have 8 and 13
/ 8 13 No number can go again into both

To get the greatest common factor of 48 and 78 we need to factor each value first and then we choose all the copies of factors and multiply them.
48:22223
78:2 313
The greatest common factor is 2x3=
