slope is determined by (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)
this would be (5-6)/(-2+4)=(-1/2)
then so you now have the value m in y=mx+b

then take one of the points and plug it in to point slope form: y-y1=m(x-x1)

y-6=-1/2(x+4)

then solve algebraically

y=-1/2x+4
