To rent a certain meeting room, a college charges a reservation fee of $47 and an additional fee of $5.40 per hour. the film club wants to spend less than $74.00 on renting the meeting room. what are the possible amounts of time for which they could rent the meeting room? use t for the number of hours the meeting room is rented, and solve your inequality for t .

+ use t for the number of hours the meeting room is rented
+ college charges a reservation fee of $47 and an additional fee of $5.40 per hour.So we have 47+ 5.40t
+ and
the film club wants to spend less than $74.00 on renting the meeting room.So we need 47+ 5.40t<74
or 5.40t< 74-47
and 5.40t<27 we have t< 27:5.40=5
So the possible amounts of time for which they could rent the meeting room less than 5 hours
