D/H x V = amount to give (this is our formula to find out our drug calculation)

Dose you want to give/ Dose on hand x vehicle = amount

So, let's plug in our numbers for our equation:

The dose we want to give is 2.5mg

Those dose we have on hand is 5mg/1mL

It's in a 1mL "vehicle"....We'll set up the equation now.

2.5mg/ 5mg x 1

2.5 รท 5 = 0.5

0.5 x 1

So, you'll want to give .5mg for this patient.
