A right triangle has an area of 13m squared. the dimensions of the triangle are increased by a scale factor of 3 what is the ares of the new triangle?

So, a right triangle with an area of 13m squared would have legs of 13 and 2.
Scale factors is simply a number that multiplies the dimensions of a shape.
So since, in this case the scale factor is three, then the dimensions of the new shape will be three times larger than the original.
If I'm correct then
13*3=39
2*3=6
A= 1/2bh
A=117 m squared
Now, the thing here is since it's squared, we must square our scale factor as well. 3^2=9... Does 13*9=117? Yes, so therefore we're correct!!

New #= scale factor* original dimension
