Macbeth basically has two choices here which he considers. The first one is to murder King Duncan as well as his heirs. The first heir is Malcolm and the second heir is Donalbain. The other option, which Macbeth chooses at first is to leave everything to chance. If by the will of chance he becomes the king so be it.
