The purpose of a persuasive essay is to persuade the reader to give in to what you're saying using the three greek writing terms we still use today.

Ethos- Staying true to ethics. This proves your credibility

Logos- An appeal to logic. This proves that your essay is not only true but makes sense........Make sense??

Pathos- An appeal to emotion. Make sure your essay will make your audience feel emotions.

The purpose of a persuasive essay means to attempt to convince someone or a group of someones that a particular position on an issue is the correct one.
