Auggie often feels he has to compete with his younger sister Via. When they got home from their first day of school, Via said she was mad at Auggie because he ignored her on the bus and sat with his friends instead of her. Via wanted her brother close on her first day in a new situation. Auggie wanted to talk with his friends more than he wanted reassure his little sister.
