Let y by the number of bags of celery.

The cost of buying x bags of carrots is 2x.
The cost of buying y bags of celery is 1.5y.

It's given that 10 dollars were spent.

That means that the total cost was 10.

Using this information, we can create the following linear equation:


2x+1.5y=10
