What changes occurred in marriage and the family in the course of the eighteenth century?

Individuals got hitched until the point that they had a profession and could fend for themselves. Also people who were serving a master as apprentice were not allowed to get married. A lot of children were born outside wedlock because their parents could not wait to be married before having sex. Same sex marriages occurred with men and women and men who could afford to adopt kids got away with being homosexuals without anyone complaining
