Being hospitalized, specifically long-term greatly increases the chances for MRSA. Additionally, other similar types of experiences like long-term care in a retirement home or hospital where exposure to bodily fluids is common and they can be imperfectly sanitized. Additionally exposure to invasive surgical instrumentation that hasn't been properly sanitized is another vector.
