This was a massive injustice that went against the values of equality and liberty that the new nation was founded upon for many years on end.

Woman were not equal, the constitution failed to give them the right to vote, or have equal representation. However as a living document gave an ability to change such injustices. Without a voice women were unable to effect change in the public domain.
