first you have to plot $16.95 and $0.10/min.. where the two figures meet, find the slope of the part..

B) when you have x which is equal to the slope you just substitute the equation to get C- intercept

91.) y = 1203x + 10,006

(a) the slope is 1203 and it is basically saying that for every year that goes by, 1203 people acquire lyme disease

(b) the y intercept is 10,006....and this is basically giving the total of people that already had lyme disease prior to 1993

(c) I cant see the whole graph..but I will try to solve this...so it is (2010 - 1993) = 17 years...so we sub in 17 for x in the original equation
y = 1203(17) + 10,006
y = 20451 + 10,006
y = 30457 <== the estimate could be 30500

(d) 36472 = 1203x + 10,006
36472 - 10,000 = 1203x
26472 = 1203x
26472 / 1203 = x
22.0 = x ....so the approximate number of years would be 22

92.) C = 0.10x + 16.95

(a) the slope is 0.10....and it is saying that for every minute of long distance use, it will cost you 10 cents

(b) the C term is gonna be ur total cost

(c) for 234 minutes...so sub in 234 for x
C = 0.10(234) + 16.95
C = 23.40 + 16.95
C = 40.35 <===
