Emotional intelligence refers to an individual's ability in identifying their own emotions and those of others, responding appropriately to emotions, adapting emotions to achieve certain goals or aims, and managing emotions appropriately in various contexts. In contrast, Gardner's idea of interpersonal intelligence is more focused on the ability to succeed in a group setting. Emotional intelligence on the other hand is focused on sensitivity to the emotions and feelings of others.
