Two equations are given below:

m + 5n = 20
m = n − 4

What is the solution to the set of equations in the form (m, n)?

(3, 7)
(0, 4) <<<< this one?
(5, 1)
(2, 6)

Answer:

(0, 4)

Explanation:

(I got it right on my FLVS test.)

Here's a very simple shortcut way to do this.

5n divided by 20 is 4

Say that n = 4 just add it to -4 which gives you 0.

So, its (0,4).

Note this is not the proper way to do it, its just for this specific type of multiple choice question you can do it this way. But dont count on it.

Sorry I'm late!

Let m=n-4
n - 4 + 5n = 20
6n = 24
> n = 4
m = 4 - 4
> m = 0
(0,4)
