opposite =?

Let opposite = x

Using the pythagoras theorem

opp² + adj² = hyp²

x² + 8² = 10²

x² + 64 = 100

subtract 64 from bothside

x²+ 64-64 = 100 - 64

x² = 36

Take the square root of bothside

√x² =√36

x = 6

The height of the tree is 6
