Cell walls of a plant and fungus are different because the cell walls of a plant contains is only made of cellulose and the fungus contains cellulose and chitin. Have a great day! :)

A cell wall is a structural layer that encloses some cells. Cell walls are usually situated outside the cell, and they can be rigid, firm or flexible. A cell wall protects the cell, gives it shape, and also functions as a filtering mechanism. Cell walls are found in plants, fungi, and in most prokaryotes.

The differences between the cell walls of a plant and fungus include;

  1. The cell walls of plant is made up of cellulose, while the cell walls of fungus is made up of chitin.
  2. The cell walls of plant is definite, while the cell walls of fungus may be septate (with inner cross wall), or aseptate (without inner cross wall).
