= 15y + (-3) (4y) + (-3) (10)= 15y + -12y + -30

Combine the Like Terms
= 15y + -12y + -30= (15y + -12y) + (-30)= 3y + -30
----------------------------------------------------------

Expression: 15y - 3(4y + 10)

The first step is to distribute.To do this we have to multiply the number that is before the brackets separately by all the number in the bracket.

15y + (-3)(4y) + (-3)(10)
15y + -12y + -30


Next we will combine like terms:

15y + -12y + -30= (15y + -12y) + (-30)
3y + -30

The terms we combined are: (15y + -12y)

Final answer: 3y - 30
