Since a plant cell consists of a cell, the process of cytokinesis is very different in a plant cell as compared to an animal cell. In an animal cell, during cytokinesis a furrow structure is forms that cause cleaving of the parent cell and formation of daughter cells. Where as in plant cell, the cell wall is quite rigid therefore no cleavage furrow is formed. Instead a plant cell forms a different structure known as cell plate during the cytokinesis stage in the cytoplasm. This cell plate keep of enlarging till the parent cell divides into daughter cell
