Elsa took out a 2 year loan to buy a car at a 6% simple interest rate. If she has to pay $264 in interest, how much principle did she borrow?

Hi! SO this is a simple interest question. The formula is I=PRT, but they already give you the interest. It's easy. Insert the #'s into the formula, so:
I = Interest
P = Principle
R = Rate
T = Time
264=p * 6% * 2
6% in decimal form would be 0.06
So it would be: 264 = p * 0.06 * 2
Multiply 0.06 and 2 and it equals 0.12
Then u have 264 = p * 0.12
Divide both sides by 0.12 since you are multiplying and you get
2200.
Therefore Elsa borrowed $2,200
Hope this helps!
