A train traveled for 1.5 hours to the first station, stopped for 30 minutes, then traveled for 4 hours to the final station where it stopped for 1 hour. The total distance traveled is a function of time. Which graph most accurately represents this scenario?

Are there different graphs provided for us to chose from? If so, could you please take a picture and send?

Answer:

The graphs are attached

We know that the train traveled for 1.5 hours first, then stopped for 30 minutes, after that, it traveled for another 4 hours.

So, we have to look for a graph that has an increasing line, then an horizontal line, and then another increasing line. The first increasing period must be from
x=0 to
x=1.5hr, then it has to show a horizontal line from
x=1.5hr to
x=2hr. After that period, it has to show another increasing line from
x=2hr to
x=6hr

Among the options, the second graph of the first image attached shows this characteristics.

Therefore, the answer is the second graph in the first image attached.
