Will the path be 1/4 metres wide?

If so 2 5/6 = 17/6 divided by 1/4 = 17/6 x 4 = 11.33 stones

Answer:

Jasmine requires approximately 11 stones to build the path.

Explanation:

We are given the following information in the question:

Length of path Jasmine wants to build =

2\displaystyle(5)/(6) = (17)/(6)\text{ meters}

Length of stone =

\displaystyle(1)/(4)\text{ meters}

Number of stones required =

\displaystyle\frac{\text{Length of path}}{\text{Length of stone}}\\\\=((17)/(6))/((1)/(4)) = (17* 4)/(6* 1) = 11.33 \approx 11

Thus, Jasmine requires approximately 11 stones to build the path.
