I sent a thank-you note to aunt Elaine, but not to my other aunts. What is suppose to be capitalized

you need to capitalize Aunt

The word that should be capitalized is aunt, in front of Aunt Elaine. This is because aunt in front of a name is a title, or pronoun, which means it needs to be capitalized. However, if you did not put a name behind aunt, you would not need to capitalize it because it would not be a pronoun.
