The rebellion took place in Massachusetts in 1774. One of the leaders was Daniel Shays, and he, like others in the rebellion, was a veteran of the American Revolution. The central cause of the Rebellion was due to the taxes that the farmers had to pay. Farmers believed that these taxes were very high and attacked and closed several federal offices, as a reprisal the federal government formed a militia and guaranteed the normal operation of the offices, this ends the Shays rebellion.
