(60 POINTS!!!) Graph the function represented in the table on the coordinate plane.

x -2, -1, 0, 1, 2
y 8, 5, 2, -1, -4
Where do I plot the points?

Answer:

You plot them based on how they are labeled

You plot the points based on their coordinates-
These points can be written as (-2, 8) (-1,5) (0,2) (1,-1) (2,-4)
You will plot them on the coordinate plane, which is the x axis and the y axis.

The x or first number in the coordinates (x,y) go horizontally on the x axis.
The y or second number in the coordinates (x,y) go vertically on the y axis

The coordinate plane has 4 quadrants and each one is like this-
Quad. 1- above x axis/right of y axis- X and Y are both POSITIVE

Quad.2- above x axis/left of y axis- Y is POSITIVE, X NEGATIVE

Quad. 3- under x axis, left of y axis- X and Y both NEGATIVE

Quad. 4-under x axis, right of y axis- X POSITIVE, Y NEGATIVE

So (-2, 8) and (-1, 5) go on quadrant 2.
(1,-1) and (2,-4) go on quad. 4.
And (0,2) is on the y axis (it does not go any spaces right or left)
