According to Sigmund Freud there are six primary defence mechanism:
1. Repression-keep disturbing thoughts
2. Denial-blocking external events
3. Projection-attributing own unpleasent thoughts
4. Displacement-satisfying impulse with substitute object
5. Regression-movement back in time when stress happen
6. Sublimation- satisfying impulse with acceptable way
