A woody tissue is also known as vascular or conductive tissue, this is formed by two main types the xylem and phloem, these tissues have cells that are lignified, and are called vessels, together these cells among other cells constitute wood, so in a typical trunk we wel see the suberogenous tissue (cortex) sclerenchyma (hard type of tissue), the vascular bundle (xylem and phloem) and parenchyma or ground tissue, together all these tissues are full of cellulose and lignin, so we can find areas full of cellulose fibrils, hemicellulose, and lignin-cellulose, vegetal fibers that confer hardness and support to the tissues.
