W+14=10 please show work so i can learn how to do it

W+14=10

Subtract the fourteen from both sides of the equation.

W+14=10
-14 -14

and you are left with W= -4

If you put that into your original equation, it checks out.

-4+14=10
10-14=-4
so W=-4
problem now below
-4+14=10
