According to John Locke, every members of Governemnt exist because of a certain social contract, which dictates that they exist solely to serve the will of the people, not the other way around.
For its economy, john Locke believe that it's best if the nations let the free market to compete with high flexibility without many potential intervention.

Locke envisioned people ceding the right to violent action to the state in return for protecting their other rights that can be lost in a lawless setting. The First Amendment's protections of the right of free speech, of assembly and of religious expression help delineate government's side of the bargain in looking after the citizen.
