Which procedure can be used to solve the equation 540=12z, and what is the solution?

540 = 12z

the process that would be used most often would be division.

540 = 12z....divide both sides by 12
540/12 = z
45 = z <==

although, another procedure could also be used....multiplication..
540 = 12z...multiply both sides by 1/12
540(1/12) = z
540 /12 = z
45 = z <==

To solve 540 = 12z you have to use inverse operation by dividing both sides by 12 to get 45 = z
